Formaty — Privacy policy

Formaty does not collect, store or share any personal data. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your files are converted only on your computer.

1. Your files: The photos, videos, audio files and PDFs you choose are read and converted only on this PC. No file is ever uploaded to a server; conversion works without an internet connection.
2. Thumbnails: Preview thumbnails of the files in the list are kept in Windows' temporary folder (%TEMP%\Formaty) and stay on this PC.
3. Settings and presets: Your conversion settings and saved presets are stored only on this PC, in %APPDATA%\Formaty.
4. Explorer right-click menu: If you turn it on, only the "Convert with Formaty" menu entry is added to the Windows registry. You can remove it in Settings or by uninstalling the app.
5. Internet: The Microsoft Store version never connects to the internet on its own; updates come through the Store. The setup version, if "Check for updates automatically" is on, reads a small version file on GitHub at most once a day. No personal information is sent and the feature can be turned off. Links such as "Report a bug / idea" or "App page" open in your browser only when you click them.
6. Microsoft Edge WebView2: The interface is drawn with Windows' WebView2 component, which Microsoft keeps up to date.

You can delete the app's settings when you uninstall it.
